Michael and Susan Dell sat down with three current and former Dell Scholars – Kingsley Neequaye, Rahim Karim and Reina Olivas – to hear firsthand how the Dell Scholars program helped support them to college graduation. From phone calls to help with financial aid packages to emotional support, they each share what types of support helped them the most.
The wraparound support the Dell Scholars program offers is a key reason 75 percent of our scholars graduate from college within six years, well above the national average for low-income students in the US. Knowing each student and providing the right support at the right time is critical to helping students make it to the finish line of college graduation. As Rahim says in the video, “I have a lot of friends in college that had scholarships. I don’t have a lot of friends in college that had a support system that was attached to the scholarship.”
