Dell Young Leaders Scholarship Program

Almost two decades after the advent of democracy, South Africa is still only beginning to make good on the promise of equal opportunity.  Though schools and universities are now open to South Africans of all races, the legacy of apartheid has created profound discrepancies in educational quality and a vast achievement gap between races.

The Dell Young Leaders program seeks to level the playing field for high-potential but disadvantaged students. We work with exceptional students who have a track record of overcoming adversity, and who show the potential to become leaders in their professional lives and communities. By offering comprehensive support throughout university, we help these exceptional students graduate and find meaningful employment in their chosen professions.

The program is currently offered at the University of Cape Town, and the application process is run through the university and the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.
