The Houston Independent School District’s (HISD) “ASPIRE” – or “Accelerating Student Progress. Increasing Results & Expectations” program has evolved into a model for performance management and educational improvement.
Originally launched to improve the performance pay program, ASPIRE evolved into a performance management system. Every action HISD takes is now driven by the data it is actively collecting and analyzing. ASPIRE is the product of strong leadership and gives educators and staff relevant and actionable data and useful tools and reports for use in goal setting, planning differentiated instruction and interventions, and follow-up with students.
