When Ana Trejo moved to Austin 13 years ago, she joined the expanding Latino population in Travis County, which has grown by 50% over the last 10 years and is expected to double again in the next 10 years. She hardly knew anyone and barely understood English

We recently visited People’s Community Clinic, whose mission is to improve the health of medically underserved and uninsured Central Texans by providing high quality, affordable healthcare. We met Feliciana Gonzalez, who shared her story of how the doctors and staff at PCC have helped her family.

With programs in Central Texas and greater Houston, College Forward offers three core programs– high school college prep classes, parent education and support, and college persistence programs –that help students not only gain admittance to college, but earn their degrees. We recently headed to Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas to hear about their stories and learn about the critical, life-saving work that happens every day at Central Texas’s only dedicated, freestanding pediatric facility.

A long-time grantee, CASA of Travis County is serves about about 80 percent of the total number of kids in the county court system, and is working to extend services to the remainder of children in the county. Listen to what Lillian, Jeanne, and the CASA team have to say about how the program is changing lives every day.

We recently visited Austin Children's Shelter to learn about the programs that they offer. We met an amazing young man named Ralph, who entered the shelter’s emergency care center, and later joined the Transitional Living program.
