The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation US offices focuses on ensuring access to quality education and healthy outcomes for children.

The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation US Education

The achievement gap that separates rich and poor students in the United States is profound. By age 24, some 95 percent of American students in the top quartile of family income have graduated from college, while only 23 percent of those in the lowest have. The resulting earnings gap is profound and lasting. Our US education initiatives seek to close those gaps by:

  • Increasing the quality school options available to parents and families
  • Improving college preparation and completion among low-income students
  • Putting student data to work so every teacher can teach each student more effectively

The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation US Health

Experts say that as a result of obesity, today’s US children may be the first generation whose lifespans are shorter than their parents’. We don’t believe that outcome is inevitable. To prevent it, and to address other chronic childhood health issues in our Central Texas community, we fund:

  • Childhood obesity prevention and wellness programs
  • Applied pediatric research
  • Basic health services for under- and uninsured children in Central Texas
  • Childhood safety for neglected and abused children in Central Texas
