Dell Scholar’s Ambition Will Take Him Around the World
As a freshman, Daniel Cisneros was part of the first Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) class at Central High School in Fresno, CA, an experience that taught him to set goals and pursue them passionately. His teacher helped the class prepare for college by coaching and mentoring the students and at the end of four years, three members of that class received Dell Scholar Program scholarships.
Daniel’s interest in history, culture, politics, government and the environment led him to pursue a Political Science degree at Fresno State University with a minor in Spanish. He is also pursuing certificates in American Humanics (non-profit management) and Legal Studies.
Attending Fresno State allowed the family-oriented Daniel to stay at home with his mother, older brother and younger sister. He derives inspiration from all three who taught him respect, patience and determination. His mother, who has worked extremely hard to provide for her three children, never doubted that Daniel would go to college.
