Meet the Board of Directors
Susan Dell
Founder, Board Chair
A mother of four, Susan is the driving force behind the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation’s health and education initiatives to positively impact the lives of urban children around the world. Additionally, she serves as a trustee of the Children’s Medical Center Foundation of Central Texas and is a board member of the Cooper Institute in Dallas. An elite-level athlete who competes in marathons, triathlons, and cycling races, Susan is also a member of the President’s Council for Physical Fitness and Sports.
Susan Dell is the chairman of the Board of Phi, a New York City-based women’s designer collection that made its runway debut in Fall 2004. Susan holds a degree in fashion merchandising and design from Arizona State University.
Michael Dell

Michael Dell, born in February 1965, is the chairman of the Board of Directors of Dell Inc., the company he founded in 1984 with $1,000 and an unprecedented idea - to build relationships directly with customers. In 1992, Michael became the youngest CEO ever to earn a ranking on the Fortune 500.
Michael is the author of Direct From Dell: Strategies That Revolutionized an Industry, his story of the rise of the company and the strategies he has refined that apply to all businesses. He serves on the Foundation Board of the World Economic Forum, the executive committee of the International Business Council and is a member of the U.S. Business Council. Michael also serves on the U.S. President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology and the governing board of the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, India.
Dr. Alexander Dell
Board Member
Dr. Alexander Dell ran a private orthodontic practice in Houston, Texas from 1964-1998. He received his B.S. from City College of New York in 1955; his D.D.S. from Columbia University’s School of Dental & Oral Surgery in 1959; and his MS in Orthodontics from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1964. Dr. Dell is a Diplomate of the America Board of Orthodontics.
In addition to serving on the board of the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, Dr. Dell serves the following organizations: Columbia University, SDOS-Advisory Board; American Jewish Committee Board and Aspen Music Festival & School National Board.
